WHO WE ARE
Indonesian Dance of Illinois (IDI) is a non-profit organization that is dedicated in the promotion of the Indonesian cultural arts to the community. Founded in 2008 by I Gusti Ngurah Kertayuda, the group has performed throughout the nation during different venues, events and festivals. The group was guest of honor during the Balinese Full Moon festival at the Indonesian Embassy in Washington D.C. A few other noted performances include the Annual Midfest in Middletown, Ohio, the Redmoon Winter Pageant in 2013, and the annual Asian American Coalition of Chicago in 2015. Along with showcasing the cultural arts through dance and music, the organization frequently participates in educational workshops with elementary schools such as Skokie School and Rosa Maddock Elementary School, and universities such as Northern Illinois University, University of Illinois Chicago, and Northwestern University.
